Locally owned, family run

Your neighbors, in Marshall.

For 25 plus years we have been the one-stop shop for Southwest Minnesota's pets and livestock, knowing our customers and their animals by name.

Since the '90s, right here on Hwy 59.

Our Story
Theresa, owner of Animal Health Center and Pet Resort Theresa. Owner. Usually somewhere near the cat food.

One roof for the whole barnyard.

Animal Health Center started with a simple idea. The folks of Southwest Minnesota should not need three different stops for their dog's food, their cat's litter, and their cattle's vaccines. So we put it all under one roof. A full pet and livestock store, a pet resort for boarding and daycare, on-staff grooming, and a large animal veterinarian.

I started here years before I ever owned the place. In 2020 I bought the store I already loved, and not much changed, because it did not need to. We kept it local, friendly, and ready for animals big and small. We still know your dog by name. And if we do not have what you need, we will order it in.

The people behind the counter

Meet the team.

Around here everyone comes with a sidekick. Almost every face on the team is happiest with an animal nearby, whether it is their own pet, a daycare regular, or one of the store cats, so that is how you will meet us.

Dr. Scott Kuecker

Staff Veterinarian

The calm hand behind the counter when a producer walks in with a real question. A University of Minnesota grad (1992) with a large animal focus, Dr. Scott has kept area herds healthy for decades and has pretty much seen it all. Wondering about a prescription product or a VFD? Track him down. He would rather talk it through than have you guess.

Jason Murphy

Veterinary Assistant

If the animals had a favorite, it might just be this guy. Steady, unhurried, and never rattled by a nervous patient, he is the one who makes even the jumpiest dog settle down. There is a proper introduction coming here soon, name, story, and all the good details, but for now know that your animals are in kind and capable hands.
